No matter how hungry these Guys may look to be, their ambition to kick HIV/AIDS Out of Africa has never been impeded. They too are compassionately willing to join hands with other change agents to impact change in their communities.”
Regardless of whom they are, they are much aware that keeping Ugandan Youths safe from the epidemic is a collective responsibility for every stakeholder.
Those seem to be some of the words by the CRO Guys below who partly attended our Kicking Aids Out Peer Leader Training in Mbale. Kicking Aids Out Department held Peer leader trainings that ran for four weeks across all Districts in the country. We started with CHRISC Ndejje on 5th-6th March, Arua 9th-11th March, Mbale 17th-18th March, Kisoro 25th-26th March, Kabale 26th-27th March, Masaka 28th-29th and Kampala 2nd-3rd March 2011.
These trainings were conducted with an aim of;
Identifying potential peer leaders for the program and make follow up on those ones trained last year

These trainings had 134 participants in all Districts from whom we managed to select 29 who will be seriously followed up for a period of 3 months. In terms of giving them post training activities, we be able to upgrade and certify the ones proved to be potential who at a later stage may be at the end of the year hopefully, will be trained as LL1s.Generally, the training was a success, we managed to introduce the program to Districts like Arua where it had never existed before, we found Arua youths very hospitable and enthusiastic. We believe if the District leadership gives them chance to exercise what was learnt, it will be a success and within no time they will be on the same line just like some other Districts where the program has been operating for some years.

I would like to extend my thanks to all District Coordinators, participants, Instructors and the National Office for the support, you in put is greatly valued, without you, we would not be where we are. Your passion towards our development is sure a good complement to empowerment.
Thank You.
